Nikhil and Kapil work for Intuit in India. Intuit is a big American software company which specializes in financial software. They both started with testing straight from College, and Nikhil - who has the longest experience - has been doing it for ten years.
They like testing, because it gives you the opportunity to understand the products from the customer’s point of view. This gives a more complete understanding of the product and a better picture of the real world. Also, test automation lets you use your coding skills from time to time, which is good, since the worst part of testing is the manual and repetitive work that you sometimes have to do in large projects.
In Nikhil and Kapil’s opinion, the most important improvement that we can do for testing and QA is to automate testing on multiple levels. This will help us to release high quality products to the customers. When we automate more and more of the testing process it is important to bear in mind that the test automation code should be handled in the same way as we handle production code – mainly because it is production code. Another important field is agile methods and how we may incorporate automatic testing in the agile processes.
Their presentation will be about TeKila, which is a testing automation framework built on open source components. The target audience for the presentation is testing practitioners and managers.
Off the field, Nikhil spends his time Playing & Watching game of Cricket, Table-Tennis. He has a great passion of Collecting Coins & Bills of different countries.
Kapil enjoys Biking, Listening to music and spending rest of time with friends and family.
